Day 279 Friday 5th October:

I got my ironing done last night so I didn't need to think about that today. I did intend to get some crafting done. I want to do some distressing but haven't got round to it yet.

It has been very wet most of the day so I didn't go and take photos til after 5pm.

This morning Roland went to mums with Chris, the gas fitter, to sort out a leaking gas pipe. We have had the gas turned off up to now but will need it on for Marion. We then went to the office, there was one phone call from a lady who thought she had lost her scarf at one of the meetings. I rang her rhis evening and she said she had found it in her craft box, we had a good natter as we hadn't met for a while and caught up on all our news.

A Local Landmark

The local cotton mill building and the church spire of St Saviours
can be seen from the M6 at Junction 29.

It is terrible how the building has been neglected and now
South Ribble Council want to have it pulled down instead of
renovating it and using it as mills have been done in other parts of the county

The Hob Inn is an old coaching in.
It was on the old A6

The railway crossing
cuts through the middle of Bamber Bridge.
When this road was the A6 you can imagine the hold ups there were on this road.
Now we have a bypass and it is a lot quieter.

  3. I love that mill, we have a factory here that just has skeleton staff and has become so run down, they want to pull it down and put a supermarket there. It would be so much better if it was developed. xx
