Day 139 18th May: Today the olympic torch arrives in Britain and Greece has rain. Do you think the weather there has come out in sympathy with ours.
I've been sorting out my cookery books and am getting rid of the ones I have never used or not looked at for a long time. Leo and Kevin took some and the rest will go to the Oxfam book shop. I'm going to sort out my gardening books next then all the novels (I've got "hundreds") so I'm going to have some shelf space. I've not enough room on the shelves for all the books I have and I have books under the stairs and in boxes - they are from mum and dads house . I'm afraid I'm a book addict and hate getting rid of any. I decided I would take pictures of some of them.
All these books came from out of the garage

The boxes are full of books and the others are my cookery books.

Todays word Flower  gave me the idea to put some of the flowers we saw in Portugal on my blog. I am going to make a scrapbook of them.

  1. Oh wow, such beautiful flowers and gorgeous colors!
I was like you regarding books. What helped me sorting them out is that 3 years ago I was trying to catch a book up and probably pushed on the shelf a bit too much and everything fell down, one shelf down the one below, down the one below... I don't recommend raining books ! I was lucky just to be a bit black and blue here and there but I got the message I had to sort them out and only keep some of them.
Obviously you didn't need to receive them all on your head to start sorting them out, lol. xx

  2. What stunning flowers- that scrapbook will be beautiful.

I'd be in bliss surrounded by all of those books- BUT I've had to prune the bookshelves here quite drastically. Think I also need to go through the cookery books!

  4. I did this when we were 'upside down' and the charity shop had several visits, but we came back from holiday with more books for the shelves, in fact you wouldn't know that I had a kindle and seemed to have abandoned it at the moment!
A lovely lot of flowers you saw! xx
