Well the builder came as he said he would about 9am so Stage 2 of the kitchen has begun. It was very noisy as he started by slicing the bricks where the hole is going to be. He spent the morning cutting the bricks the width of the hole with a brick saw, taking out the bricks with a power chisel and putting in a retaining wall for the base of the alcove. There was brick dust everywhere in the garage fortunately Roland had boarded the kitchen wall so very little got into the kitchen. Roland went to the tip twice with the rubble and Dave and Roland piled up the bricks in the garden.
He left about the same time as I left to go to a scrapbooking class. I do do scrapbooking but I needed a push toget on with some more. Sue runs the class in Stampers Gallery at Tarleton. I had a really good afternoon and have completed 2 pages.
Football all evening on TV. Euro 2012 has started. looks like I will be getting lots of crafting done.
Building work from inside the garage.
Spot the builder
After the dust had settled
These were on one of the shelves Roland had to clear and fit the prompt perfectly
Vintage
Can anyone guess what they are?
The bowls are Bakelite. Answer below.
They are BEL Cream makers, Jubilee Model.
Dad used to make cream with one when we were young.
You melt saltless butter and milk together then pump it through the bowl into the glass jar and you get cream.
I've decided I must try it to see what it tastes like after all this time. I remember it tasted good at the time but we couldn't get fresh cream like you can now.

What work are you having done- looks interesting!!!!!! Well done on the scrapping- I haven't done any for ages.

ReplyDeleteIt sounds as if all the Jubilee celebrations on TV were enjoyed by us all, like the photos from the TV, I too have taken lots and since the were all recorded can get some more before I delete them.
I too go to a scrapping class once a month as well as a monthly crop and really enjoy going!Since getting my blog going this year, scrapping seems to have taken a back seat!
